For many, including me, 2020 seems to be the year of disappointments so far. The Covid-19 virus, along with many other disturbing and chaotic events in the world, has changed a lot of people's plans. Recently I vacationed with two of my grandchildren at our family's mountain lodge. I noticed that the bedtime routine for Gabriel (6) and Claire (almost 4) included the assurance from Mom and Dad that they would leave the nightlight on. Somehow leaving a little bright spot on in the corner of an otherwise dark bedroom makes the space seem not so scary.
